Kellogg Shared Facility Leadership and Management Course

Program Overview

This executive education program is designed specifically for directors, managers and business administrators overseeing core facilities. The program was developed to enhance participants’ ability to think strategically and address the unique challenges of operating a small business within a non-profit environment. This year's four-day in-person sessions are scheduled June 9-12, 2025, on the Chicago campus of Northwestern University. Please read more program details on the Kellogg Course webpage

C-ShaRP offers participants financial support of up to $8,000 per person, which includes full coverage of the $5,000 registration fee for the Kellogg course and up to $3,000 for travel-related expenses (such as flights and hotel accommodations), reimbursed in alignment with Stanford University’s travel guidelines.

Participants

A cohort of four-six participants will be selected through a nomination process to attend the 2025 Kellogg Shared Facility Leadership Course. Nominations must be submitted by senior Shared Facility leaders within the participant’s respective school or unit. Final selection of participants will be performed by the Chair of C-ShaRP. Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold managerial responsibilities in their current role at a Shared Facility or be slated to resume such duties in the near future.
  • Demonstrate consistently high-performance standards.
  • Actively contribute visible, impactful value to their organization.
  • Exhibit leadership potential extending beyond their current responsibilities.

Program Content

The curriculum will offer a rigorous and research-based classroom learning experience paired with relevant tools and business principles that can be put into practice immediately.

  • Leadership Topics:
    • Enhancing persuasion and influence skills
    • Leveraging strengths-based leadership
    • Understanding and creating strong organizational culture
    • Leading teams and collaborating for impact
       
  • Fiscal Strategy and Management Topics:
    • Marketing and consumer behavior
    • Pricing strategies
    • Creating market value
       
  • Key Benefits:
    • Understand key management concepts including leadership, finance, pricing strategies, marketing and others
    • Learn to think strategically about your facility and identify important concepts you can apply to build the organization, increase stability and enhance growth
    • Build a network of peers and mentors to support continued professional growth and development
    • Acquire new knowledge and skills for strengthening your organization’s capacity to meet the challenges of a changing competitive landscape

Nomination Process

Deadline: Submit nominations via this Google Form no later than March 21, 2025.

How to Submit: Nominations must be submitted by the nominee’s supervisor or senior leadership. Ensure all required details are included in the form.
