The program supports both curriculum and non-curriculum experiential learning activities. We are particularly interested in fostering new and interdisciplinary collaborations between faculty and Shared Research Platform teams to offer new experiential learning courses to graduate and undergraduate students, or adding hands-on components to existing lecture-based courses.

Additionally, we highly encourage non-curriculum proposals from Shared Research Platform teams to incorporate new instruments and technologies, especially those funded through the C-ShaRP Instrumentation & Enhancement Program, in their workshops or other experiential learning events.

By exposing students to cutting-edge, real-world technology which is underpinned by theoretical concepts, we can bridge the gap between theory and practice, fostering deeper understanding and engagement, and paving the way for impactful scientific discoveries. This C-ShaRP Experiential Learning Program helps create equitable opportunities for all students to gain hands-on experience via a dynamic learning environment, ultimately producing a more skilled, innovative workforce ready to tackle real-world challenges.

Proposals should be submitted online at https://seedfunding.stanford.edu, following the link below to the opportunity listing: https://seedfunding.stanford.edu/opportunities/c-sharp-experiential-learning-program-fy26

Please be as thorough and thoughtful as possible in your budget; the actual expenses should come within 10% of the proposed budget. A budget table (template here) is required.

Please include whatever details support your case. For example, letters from instructors regarding their involvement, letters from Departmental or School officials confirming support, course or workshop syllabus, etc. Further narrative or exposition should not be included.

Combine the documents into a single .pdf file for upload.

If you get this message, "you are not eligible to apply", you are probably a program officer on the Seed Funding site for another opportunity. The current privileges do not allow program officers to apply for any other opportunities -- so, if you run into this, contact seedfunding@stanford.edu to request the Applicant PO role. Please contact ybai3@stanford.edu if you have any other problems accessing the site or uploading your files.

Please check teaching support programs offered by the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). Teaching Advancement Grants have supported courses offering experiential learning activities at Shared Research Platforms. This program is available quarterly and provides teaching funds of up to $2,500. They are available to Stanford faculty, lecturers, students, instructional teams, and departments. These one-time grants are meant to fund projects that serve as springboards for the exploration, design, and implementation of new or improved pedagogical approaches in courses and educational programs that incorporate IDEAL values to support learning for Stanford students.
